THE DICKIES
"DOGS FROM THE HARE THAT BIT US"
TRIPLE X RECORDS

When The Dickies played through Hartford about a month ago, I had the pleasure of doing a brief interview with original members Stan Lee and Leonard G. Phillips. One of the things they talked about was their upcoming "EP-length LP CD" of cover tunes. They rattled off some old song titles, and I was in hysterics thinking about Dickie-ized versions of tunes originally by Donovan and The Beatles. I'm not laughing anymore. The is Leonard's dead-on Donovan impersonation on "Epistle To Dippy." The only problem with the CD is that it's too damn short! Another five songs are so would have made this the perfect summer time record (or chase-away-the-winter-blues record). A fun band and a fun CD; hope they come around again soon with a new product and tour.
