The Royal Soul Review will feature Ben E. King, Lloyd Price, Percy Sledge, Sam Moore, Chuck Jackson, Gene Chandler, Jerry Butler and Irma Thomas. The tour is only for a handful of dates between July 16th and 25th . Three of the venues are owned by SFX (Westbury, Oakdale, and Harborlights), the NYC date is at the Beacon Theatre and the final date went to the Foxwoods Casino. Former J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf will host the show while GE Smith serves as musical director. The Uptown Horns will be the backing band for each artist on the tour, which is modeled after the soul reviews of the ’60s and will feature each singers’ greatest hits.

"Luckily for me, they found this nodule was more of a warning than anything else," Harrison was quoted as saying in the report. Subsequent radiation treatment seems to be working for the guitarist. Following his treatment, a visit to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., in May revealed that the cancer had not returned. "I went back and was given the final all-clear — a clean bill of health,"

The 30-year anniversary of a certain legendary, generation-defining concert is still a year away, but apparently it’s none too early to celebrate the spirit of Woodstock. Having recruited punk-rock godfather Lou Reed, Don Henley, Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers and original Woodstock veterans Pete Townshend, Richie Havens and Ten Years After, the Bethel Development Corporation and GF Entertainment have announced a concert event entitled "A Day in the Garden," to be held Aug. 14-15 on the site of the original 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, Sullivan County, N.Y.
