What really makes this show go, however, is the selection of the songs on the disk. Too many times, C&N (and you can include S and Y, too) live recordings have taken the safest route possible, with "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and the like rehashed (no pun intended for this show) time and again.
Not here. You have to actually know their careers, for the most part, to appreciate the inclusion of "Man in the Mirror," "Used to be a King," "Where Will I Be?" and "Strangers Room."
It is highly unlikely that nights like this will occur again on the concert trail. It’s a good thing that we have this recording to remind us of what it was like when artists took chances and took the audience along with them for the trip, theirs and ours.
