Sachja Productions, a new multi-faceted entertainment company, has recently opened its doors to assist local musicians seeking recording careers within the professional music industry. "Today’s musicians and prospective recording artists have immediate access to affordable technology for production purposes," states Kenny Love, President and Chief Executive Officer. "But when it comes to actually getting their product heard through radio airplay, or reviewed in the press, there is still as much confusion today for musicians on how to approach the promotional aspect as in the past," he adds. Love has worked in the industry as a booking agent, record promoter, publicist, journalist, and as a regularly featured columnist in various music magazines. Sachja (pronounced Sot-cha), his latest musical venture, functions as both a record label as well as a full-fledged promotion entity to assist artists who own their labels but still require promotional assistance. If you are a local musician or recording artist interested in gaining significant exposure for your recording and your career, feel free to submit your recording and contact information to the company at P. O. Box 701231, Dallas, Texas 75370-1231. Sachja Productions can also be contacted via telephone at (972)390-0529, via fax at (209)755-8329, or by Email at sachja@yahoo.com.

With a temporary permit in hand, Woodstock ‘99 organizers are adding more acts to the festival’s lineup. Wyclef Jean and the Refugee Allstars, Jamiroquai, Mickey Hart’s Planet Drum, and Our Lady Peace have signed on to play the three-day fest in Rome, N.Y. The 30th anniversary of Woodstock promises to be just as eclectic as the first. So far, 35 acts will play the two main stages. A stage for local talent and a rave stage will bring in even more artists. Among those previously announced to play the July 23-25 weekend are Aerosmith, the Dave Matthews Band, Sheryl Crow, The Offspring, Alanis Morissette, the Tragically Hip, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Willie Nelson, and Metallica. The promoters are still juggling the order and day of appearance for many of the acts. It was rumored that John Fogerty, who played the original Woodstock with CCR, would perform, but that seems unlikely now. Tickets went on sale April 25th at $150 for a three-day pass.
