Recently archaeologists, in Mid-East North Carolina, while doing coastal work, uncovered a lost tribe of people, frozen in time. That time was the late 60's and early 70s. Untouched by time, and shielded from the "advancement" of society. This tribe clung to the archaic principles that included; family, hope, and optimism. Their music tells that sordid, vegetarian, flower child, naivete, peace, love, tale. Shield your children.
The Album / CD is titled, "For Each Other", by Kitty West-Dorrman. Many musicians participated in this piece of work, as well as a children's choir drafted from at least 7 schools.
Support was provided for this project, by funding from the North Carolina Regional Arts Grant Program.
The album shows many styles and sides of Kitty West-Dorrman, with sounds on "Wide Open" reminiscent of the Moody Blues, the Dylan cover "Forever Young" vocal sounding of Buffy St. Marie (who remembers her?), "You Are My Friend" sound of a Sondheim Musical, and "I Am Not There" sounding like a cross between It's A Beautiful Day" and Dan Fogelberg.
The instruments on the Album tend to the acoustic, with acoustic guitars, fiddle, mandolin and accordion.
Kitty does a cover of the Stevie Nick tune "Landslide", as well as a real competent version of Crosby, Stills and Nashs "Helplessly Hoping".
So, if you want to get in touch with your inner child and you have the time, and you are not currently on prozac or barbituates, lock up the rope and razor blades, start a fire in the fireplace, open a bottle of wine and relax.
