TOM SANDERS & THE HORNETS
“AIN’T DONE YET”
FIFTEEN MINUTES O” FAME RECORDS

Tom Sanders and The Hornets, one of Connecticut’s favorite blues bands, are currently showcasing their debut CD, “Ain’t Done Yet”. Take an all-star rhythm section, add two strong vocalists, a stinging guitar, powerful harmonica, tight horns, piano and a B-3 and you get a musical variety offering something for everyone.
The group provides a stellar performance on this all original recording. The title cut, “Ain’t Done Yet”, starts you on the path to some swinging fun.
Dishrag has the gruff vocals of Tom Sanders complemented with the harmonica work of Wally Greaney. One is able to pick up some of Sanders’ influences such as Roomful of Blues, Magic Sam, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, and even the Allman Brothers. Yet the sound is distinctively their own.
Using their diverse talents, the band does it all. From a slow blues burner “Life With You”, to a funky beat “Routine Blues”, to an up tempo swing “Green Light”, or a jazz groove “Crazy 8’s”. Two years in the making, the CD contains performances from past and present members of The Hornets. Some high profile friends are also present.
Allman Brothers’ drummer Jaimoe and Little Anthony Gerasi. Jaimoe doubles drums with Ray Romano on two cuts.
I highly recommend “Ain’t Done Yet”, an outstanding CD from a band that Connecticut blues fans have come to know will always provide a swinging good time.
